Hi and welcome to Underfloor Heating Reviews
This site is to help give you a better idea of the advantages of underfloor heating compared to traditional radiators around your house.
There are two main sorts of underfloor heating Electric and hydronic which uses fluid like traditional heating systems what this site will try to do is give you underfloor heating reviews of both methods and there uses.
So what is the difference between electric underfloor heating systems and hydronic underfloor heating and which is actually the best underfloor heating system for your needs?
Well the truth is it really depends on the situation you’re in and where your underfloor heating will be going, now I know what you’re thinking it’s going to go under the floor obviously, but what I actually meant was would it be set in a screed floor orwill it be under tiles or wooden flooring etc.
Hydronic underfloor heating is commonly set in screed the fluid in the system is circulated through a closed loop of piping that runs under the flooring set in the solid screed base, the piping is commonly made of a plastic tubing like polyethylene, it is also sometimes made of copper or steel, however the plastic option is often easier to install and cheaper and is certainly the method preferred in most installations.
Electric Underfloor heating is another great option this is not commonly set in a permanent screed, even though it is still an option, this technique is usually associated with wood underfloor heating and underfloor tile heating a good example of this would be underfloor heating mats these can be placed under flooring materials like a laminate floor or whatever it is your putting down, there are also specific under tile heating options and even under carpet and vinyl underfloor heating options so you can literally apply this system t any area.
Overall both are great options but generally electric tends to be the more DIY friendly
So far this is just a brief overview rather than an underfloor heating review, but we will talk more in detail about the different types of underfloor heating systems more specifically throughout the site.
We hope you find the information here at Underfloor Heating Reviews useful and please feel free to check out the rest of the site before you leave.
